In April 2024 the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) is holding a major exhibition and symposium in Manchester. IABSE is the major international body representing the worldwide design and construction community, covering all kinds of buildings, bridges and structures, and all construction materials and processes. The event will be a showcase for international construction and an opportunity for the UK as host nation to demonstrate the capabilities and activities of its construction sector, with a strong showing by engineers, architects, contractors, suppliers, researchers, clients and others. With its history as the birthplace of the industrial revolution and an international hub of scientific and engineering research and development, Manchester will be proud to welcome delegates for what promises to be a key moment in the drive towards a net zero future for the UK and the world. On behalf of IABSE we look forward to welcoming all practicing engineers, architects, researchers, clients, constructors and others involved in developing or studying the built environment to participate in this memorable and significant Symposium.
